Delete your account

You can delete your Ludowish account yourself at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what we have to keep for a while for legal reasons.

How to delete your account

In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account, then confirm with your password.

In a browser: sign in at www.ludowish.com → Profile → Settings → Delete account.

Without the app and without signing in: write to privacy@ludowish.com from the address your account was created with, and we will delete it for you.

Child profiles are deleted by the parent in their own account under Family → choose the child → Delete profile.

What happens next

Your account is deactivated immediately and is no longer reachable. After 14 days it is deleted for good - the delay exists so that an accidental deletion does not take everything with it right away. Within those 14 days you can sign in once and cancel the deletion.

What is deleted

• your account including e-mail address, password and date of birth
• your profile: display name, username, avatar, interests
• your lists and wishes including the images stored for them
• your reactions, your followers and the accounts you follow
• your paired devices and push tokens
• for child profiles also the PIN and the device pairings

What we have to keep, and for how long

• Reservations you made on other people's lists: anonymised, not deleted. Otherwise the person who wished for the item would suddenly see it as available again, although it has been bought.
• Consent records for child profiles: 3 years, in reduced form, because the law requires us to be able to prove consent.
• Server logs with shortened IP address: 30 days, for operational security.
• Backups: at most 35 days. After that the deleted data is gone from the backups as well.

Reservation data on lists with an event date is anonymised 90 days after the event anyway, whether or not anyone deletes an account.
